The City of Marshalltown is updating its Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is an important tool that provides guidance to community leaders and decision-makers for sound and efficient community growth and public investment.
A Comprehensive Plan establishes a vision for the City and helps guide policies, priorities, and the City’s capital improvement budget. Common elements addressed in a Comprehensive Plan include:

- Reflects goals for growth, redevelopment, housing, jobs, transportation, and services
- Helps guide future decisions about zoning updates, infrastructure investments, and public services
